Skin Rejuvenation
Brown spots, broken capillaries and other fallout from photo aging are easy targets for IPL laser systems that use broadband light to repair these defects through a process called photo rejuvenation. Additionally, facial wrinkles can now be treated non-ablatively, contributing to a more youthful appearance. Using relatively low-energy, short-pulse broadband light, imperfections such as erythema of rosacea, superficial telangiectasia, dyschromia, age spots and other discolored signs of photo aging can be gently heated and eliminated, replaced by newer, younger looking skin. At Uptown Laser and Skin Care we use advanced treatments for skin rejuvenation, because each treatment is gentle with no downtime. In fact, laser skin treatments for wrinkles and other signs of aging can be done during a lunch hour and no one will notice any sign of treatment, just a gradual improvement in the skin’s appearance.

Laser Skin Tightening
With its ever-growing popularity, laser skin tightening is a common procedure at Uptown Laser and Skin Care. The treatment is ideal for targeting those telltale signs of aging, including jowl and neck laxity, sagginess under the eyes, droopy brow lines, and nasolabial folds. A series of three to six treatments produces a tighter, fresher appearance — without pain or invasive procedures.

Acne, Acne Scar and Pigmentation Removal
Acne is a common condition characterized by obstructed sebaceous glands, and sometimes deeper cysts or nodules that occur on the face, neck, chest, back, shoulders and upper arms. Acne begins in adolescence and usually affects most teenagers at some time. However, adults too can suffer with acne.
Until recently, patients with persistent, moderate acne have been treated with only topical or sometimes systemic antibiotics. At Uptown Laser and Skin Care, we have a solution in just a fraction of the time. Patients usually achieve very good acne clearance and treatments for acne.

Microdermabrasion
Microdermabrasion is a popular skin treatment with a simple, straight forward, non-invasive procedure that revitalizes dull skin, reduces large pores, erases fine lines and wrinkles, acne scars, reduces mild pigment irregularities (hyper-pigmentation), stretch marks and age spots.
Microdermabrasion is a non-surgical procedure which gently resurfaces the skin. This exfoliation is performed with medical grade mineral crystals or diamond tip which brushes the skin’s surface creating a gentle vacuum. This action removes dead and damaged cells at the skin’s surface. By eliminating these surface cells, the skin is left soft and supple while forcing the regeneration of new skin cells.
Effectively minimize the appearance of:
- Scars
- Hyperpigmentation
- Fine lines
- sun damaged skin
- Blemishes
- Dull and congested skin
- Uneven skin tones and textural damaged skin
-
Enlarged pores
After treatment, the skin may feel tight. Some individuals may experience light flaking of the skin, therefore, it is important to use a good moisturizer as advised by our skin therapists. Otherwise there are minimal side effects, which is why microdermabrasion is often described as “the lunch hour” procedure.
On the other hand, microdermabrasion is not appropriate for people with:
- Severe acne scars
- Advanced aging signs
- Sunburns
- Extensive hyper-pigmentation (discoloration of skin)
- Skin disorders
-
Sensitive skin

Radio-frequency skin thightening
Radio-frequency skin tightening is an aesthetic technique that uses radio frequency (RF) energy to heat tissue and stimulate sub-dermal collagen production in order to reduce the appearance of fine lines and loose skin. The technique induces tissue remodeling and production of new collagen and elastin. The process provides an alternative to face-lift and other cosmetic surgeries. RF treatment also causes apoptosis of fat cells, which leads to fat layer reduction in the treated area.
How does a radio-frequency facial work?
Radio-frequency is all about stimulating your own collagen production. During a treatment a machine is used to heat the skin to between 38-40 degrees with radio-frequency, which feels like a hot stone face massage – you do feel heat in the skin but it's comfortable.
Is there any other discomfort or downtime involved?
It takes approximately 30 minutes to treat a whole face and the only discomfort is some feeling of heat in the skin (which not everyone gets). There is no downtime – you could easily have a treatment at lunchtime and go out that evening looking amazing!
Hydrodermabrasion
Hydradermabrasion is a dermatological procedure which combines simultaneous dermal infusion of medicinal products and crystal-free exfoliation. Hydradermabrasion's mechanism of actions includes: mechanical stimulation activates the basal layer, and thickening and smoothing the epidermis.
What Are The Benefits of Hydrodermabrasion?
-
Fades dark spots
-
Reduces the appearance of fine lines
-
Pores appear smaller
-
More even-toned complexion
-
Skin looks hydrated and glows
-
Gentle enough for sensitive skin
-
Immediate results
-
A big benefit to hydrodermabrasion is that it has both immediate and long-term benefits. Immediately after hydrodermabrasion, most people report their skin is glowing and looks smoother.
This isn’t surprising, considering that your skin will be exfoliated and infused with hydrating ingredients during the treatment. Exfoliating the outer layer of the skin removes the dead cells that dull your complexion.
Microneedling
Microneedling is a cosmetic procedure. It involves pricking the skin with tiny sterilized needles. The small wounds cause your body to make more collagen and elastin, which heal your skin and help you look younger. You might also hear it called collagen induction therapy.
Microneedling Benefits
Microneedling may help with issues like:
-
Dark spots or patches on your skin (hyperpigmentation)
-
Large pores
-
Reduced skin elasticity
-
Scars
-
Fine lines and wrinkles
Microneedling may work better for people with darker skin tones because it doesn’t involve heat the way laser treatments do, which can affect your skin’s pigmentation, or color. The procedure usually takes 10-20 minutes, depending on how big the area is. Most people need 4-6 treatments to see a difference.
HIFU
Microneedling is a cosmetic procedure. It involves pricking the skin with tiny sterilized needles. The small wounds cause your body to make more collagen and elastin, which heal your skin and help you look younger. You might also hear it called collagen induction therapy.
Microneedling Benefits
HIFU uses focused ultrasound energy to target the layers of skin just below the surface. The ultrasound energy causes the tissue to heat up rapidly. Once the cells in the targeted area reach a certain temperature, they experience cellular damage. While this may seem counterintuitive, the damage actually stimulates the cells to produce more collagen — a protein that provides structure to the skin. The increase in collagen results in tighter, firmer skinTrusted Source with fewer wrinkles. Since the high-frequency ultrasound beams are focused on a specific tissue site below the skin’s surface, there’s no damage to the upper layers of the skin and adjacent issue.
HIFU has many aesthetic benefits, including:
-
wrinkle reduction
-
tightening sagging skin on the neck (sometimes called turkey neck)
-
lifting the cheeks, eyebrows, and eyelids
-
enhancing jawline definition
-
tightening of the décolletage
-
smoothing the skin
